Liverpool Day 3 - Albert Dock and Water Front

Updated: Apr 22

This is Albert Dock, one of the many docks that was redeveloped and commercialised. It is the busiest one.

The ground level is occupied by cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. And the upper levels are apartments and hotel rooms.

Between the 2 red brick buildings, there is the Liver Bird Building with the clock. There are 2 birds on the very top of it standing. (I know it is too small to see) It is said that when the Liver Birds are flown away, that would be the end of Liverpool. Once a taxi driver said to me.

To learn about its history. Have a look at these websites.

A Story of Liver Birds

Photo left: a colourful Mersey ferry that takes you to the other side of the river. Or you can enjoy a ferry tour that goes all the way down the river. It is quite windy though.

Photo right: Pier Head ferry terminal. In that unique shape architecture, there is a café and the Beatles Story museum upstairs.

For the Beatles fans. The Beatles Story

Liverpool Museum in Pier Head. All these faces are Liverpool born celebrities nicely showcased on the top floor wall.

Paul O'Grady is one of the big names. I loved him. Because he was an excellent example as an animal lover. He was a loving and caring human being. I wish I can live life like him, totally open and free. And he lived his life fully. Sadly, he passed away earlier this year due to his uncured illness. Thank you, Paul, for your love.

Go to the website to check what's on at the museum and opening days. You can learn anything about Liverpool. I found it entertaining!
